1. About us

First Place Tutors (trading as First Place Tutors) is a UK-based online tutoring service providing GCSE and A-Level Maths tuition to students aged 13-18. When you purchase or use our services, you are contracting with First Place Tutors as the seller and service provider.

These terms govern your use of our website, lessons and member services. By continuing to use our website or services, you agree to these terms. You confirm you are of legal age to enter into this agreement, or that you are a parent or guardian purchasing on behalf of a student.

2. Memberships and payment

Memberships are billed Monthly, Quarterly or Bi-Annually. All plans renew automatically until cancelled.

Monthly plans can be cancelled before the next billing date. Quarterly and Bi-Annual plans run for the committed term.

Payment, billing, currency, tax, invoicing, cancellation and refund mechanics are handled by our reseller Paddle and are governed by the Paddle Buyer Terms at https://www.paddle.com/legal/checkout-buyer-terms.

3. Order process and Merchant of Record

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

4. Lessons and attendance

Lessons are delivered live online in small groups. Recordings are made available for catch-up. If a student misses a lesson, recordings, worksheets and tutor follow-up are provided.

5. Refunds

We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you are not satisfied with your purchase, you can request a full refund within 30 days of your order date.

Refunds are processed by Paddle, our Merchant of Record. To request a refund, visit paddle.net or contact us at info@firstplacetutors.com and we will help arrange it.

6. Acceptable use

You must not misuse the service. This includes unlawful use, fraud or spam, infringing the intellectual property of others, sharing account credentials, recording or redistributing lesson content, and interfering with the security of the platform (malware, probing, scraping).

Students attend lessons on time, complete homework, and treat tutors and peers respectfully.

7. Intellectual property

First Place Tutors retains ownership of the service and all associated intellectual property, including software, worksheets, recordings, curriculum materials and branding. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use these materials for personal study within your plan.

8. Service level

We endeavour to deliver every advertised lesson, but we do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or error free.

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these terms, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated or serious policy violations. Where access is terminated for breach, remaining fees may not be refundable beyond the guarantee period described above.

10. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude implied warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Our aggregate liability is limited to the fees paid in the previous 12 months. Nothing limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified by email at least 14 days in advance.
