1. Who we are

First Place Tutors is the data controller. Contact: info@firstplacetutors.com.

2. What we collect

Parent and student names, contact details, year group, current and target grades, learning goals, and (for members) lesson attendance, homework and progress data.

We also process account credentials, support messages, and usage and device information such as IP address and browser type.

We do not collect or store payment card details. Payment information is collected and processed directly by Paddle.com Market Limited (Paddle), our Merchant of Record.

3. Lawful basis

We process data on the basis of contract (delivering tuition), legitimate interests (lesson communications), and consent (marketing emails, withdrawable any time).

4. Sharing

We share data with assigned tutors, and with service providers and subprocessors that help us run the service (hosting, email delivery, analytics and support tooling).

Paddle.com Market Limited acts as the Merchant of Record for all orders. Paddle receives and processes your name, contact details, billing address, payment details and transaction data in order to take payment, manage subscriptions, handle refunds and returns, issue invoices and meet sales tax obligations. Paddle acts as an independent controller for this payment data, and its handling is described in the Paddle Buyer Terms and Paddle privacy notice at https://www.paddle.com/legal/privacy.

We may also share data with professional advisers (legal, accounting) and with authorities where required by law. We never sell data.

5. International transfers and security

Where data is transferred outside the UK or EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as UK adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses. We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit and access controls.

6. Retention

Account data is kept for the duration of membership plus 6 years for accounting. Lesson recordings are kept for 12 months unless deletion is requested. Data is deleted or anonymised when no longer needed.

7. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability and objection, and the right to withdraw consent. You can contact us at info@firstplacetutors.com and we will respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to the ICO.

9. Children's data
